He’s single! Home and Away’s Matt Evans shares the truth about being unlucky in love

With his prominent pout and sharp jaw, Matt Evans of Home and Away appears to be a heartbreaker.

That, however, is not the case, according to the 25-year-old actor.

Matt, who portrays Theo Poulos on the popular Australian soap, spoke to The Daily Telegraph about his plans to start a music career, and when asked about his ambition to write love songs, he revealed that he isn’t very good at it.

“I compose a lot of love songs,” Matt revealed to the journal, “which is weird because I haven’t had many girlfriends and I don’t really fall in love very easily.” Matt also said that he is single and would likely stay that way for a while.

“At the time, there’s nobody on the horizon,” he remarked.

After participating on The Voice in 2020, Matt joins Home and Away in September 2021.

The actor is eager to get his music out there now that he has hit his stride on Summer Bay. In fact, fans will be able to hear his music in subsequent episodes!

“That excites me tremendously because it is so lovely to have both worlds come together,” he remarked.

“It’s been difficult to nearly give up music by focusing solely on acting for a while, but it’s fantastic to be able to do both.”

Matt definitely impressed fans and producers alike during his stint on The Voice, even if he only made it to the top 20 under Delta Goodrem’s tutelage.

The actor was interviewed by The Daily Telegraph last year ahead of his Home and Away debut, adding, “I walked in there with a clean slate and I am learning so much day by day,” he said.

“It’s incredible how much I’ve learned. It’s similar to being paid to go to school. My first day at the studio, I had a bit of a panic attack because there were so many people around and I had no idea what I was doing. I’m just trying to pick up new skills on the job.”

Matt may believe he’s been unlucky in love, but he may have larger fish to fry with his up-and-coming career and everything that comes with securing one’s place in show industry.
