Since Matthew Montgomery’s arrival in Summer Bay, viewers of Home and Away have been loving the unfolding plot between him, Chloe, and Mia.
Mia was caught off guard when the shady character appeared out of nowhere, forcing her to wrestle with her conscience about whether or not to tell Chloe the truth about her father and the tragic events surrounding her pregnancy.
Fans are on the edge of their seats as they await the conclusion of the forthcoming storyline, which will see Chloe murder her father while attempting to protect her mother from her previous rapist.
Actor James Sweeny has done a fantastic job in the character, but it couldn’t be more different from his own life as an actor.
Home and Away role
James debuted as Matthew Montgomery on Home and Away last week, and he’s already generating a stir.
While his stay in Summer Bay will be brief, it will leave an indelible mark.
Matthew will be slain by Chloe in a battle that breaks out when he refuses to go quietly and attacks her mother Mia.
As the catastrophe unfolds, Chloe picks up a nearby brick and strikes her father, accidentally killing him.
Friendship between co-stars
While Chloe plans to murder Matthew, James and actress Sam Barrett are close friends.
Since he joined the Australian serial, the two have spent a lot of time together.
James posed beside pal Sam with her young daughter in an Instagram image released to the public online, writing: “18 months old and already funnier than me.”
When it comes to his personal life, James isn’t one to hold back when it comes to public displays of affection, and he routinely updates his Instagram profile with updates from his spouse.
James and Jessica appear to live a wealthy lifestyle that includes picturesque travels and fine dining.
Bernie, their spaniel, is also a member of the couple’s family.
The appearance in rival soaps
James may currently be recognised as Home And Away’s nefarious Matthew, but he formerly appeared in rival series Neighbours, when he walked the asphalt on Ramsay Street.
In 2016, he appeared in the soap as Ryan Prescott for an eight-episode run.
He harassed Amy Williams in the role after it was discovered she used to work for his lingerie-cleaning business.
After the locals banded together to get rid of him, Terese bought a hard drive from him that included footage he was using to blackmail her.
