Home and Away spoilers: Irene is horrified by Cash’s big idea

After declining Jasmine’s (Sam Frost) invitation to move in together, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) has left her hurt and confused. After walking away from the conversation without providing an explanation the next day, his only justification was that he needed to be around for Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), which Jasmine found difficult to believe. He’s not moving far away; he’s just moving to a house a few blocks away!

The two eventually decide to draw a line under it and move on, but the subject remains painful. Cash, Jasmine, and Felicity form a bonding unit after the community is rocked by the news of a death. Felicity is stuck for something to do, so she spends more time with the couple – but in doing so, she oversteps her welcome by bringing up the’moving in’ question once more.

Cash pulls Felicity aside and tells her she needs to stay out of it because he and Jasmine are clearly uncomfortable talking about it. Felicity, on the other hand, has some words for her brother, claiming that the protective act is suffocating her. Cash, having been given food for thought, decides to put his fear of moving in with Jasmine aside and go for it.

He decides to make his change of heart known by making a grand romantic gesture. In the Diner, he approaches Irene (Lynne McGranger) and requests a key to the house. Irene is overjoyed – he and Jasmine have finally decided to move in together? No, Cash says they haven’t talked about it since he put an end to the plan. He intends to move in quietly and surprise her!

Cash is perplexed when Irene refuses to give him a key. Irene, on the other hand, makes it obvious that he cannot simply move in without her approval. She isn’t in the habit of giving up her house keys to just anyone who asks! When Felicity hears about Cash’s plan, she agrees with Irene – far from being a romantic notion, his proposal sounds downright intrusive…
