Logan (Harley Bonner) was recently shocked to learn that Marilyn (Emily Symons) had filed a malpractice complaint against him with the hospital board. He now faces a tribunal and is concerned that, regardless of the decision, it will remain on his professional record.
In the Diner, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) tries to calm him down, and Irene (Lynne McGranger) hears them. She realises Marilyn has escalated her out-of-character behaviour, but the woman herself emerges and flatly refuses to engage with Logan anytime he attempts to speak with her.
Irene tries to tell her that Logan only got involved due to her asking for it, but this doesn’t change Marilyn’s mind. Logan begins to worry about his future in medicine, and the matter is made worse when Dean (Patrick O’Connor) goes in for a consultation following a fall when he tried to get on his surfboard.
Logan examines the scans on Dean’s pelvis and reassures him that he’s healing well. However, when Dean asks when he’ll be able to get back on a board again, Logan is unable to guarantee he will be able to surf again at all.
Dean’s world comes crashing down around him when he realises that his job and purpose for being could be taken away from him forever.
Dean accuses Logan of making the wrong decision and ruining his life, knowing that Logan overrode Tori’s (Penny McNamee) wish to bring Dean in for an operation at the time of the tragedy…
