Home and Away star Harley Bonner teases dramatic rescue scenes in show’s return week

When Home and Away returns to UK screens next week, star Harley Bonner spoke to Digital Spy about the dramatic events in store for his character Logan Bennett.

The show’s UK conclusion in November left fans on a massive cliffhanger, with Tane Parata’s stalker endangering all of the attendees at Martha Stewart’s mental health event.

Tane’s mysterious assailant drugged his drink at the local gym and knocked him out. The unidentified villain then used a chemical sprayer to spray a poisonous material inside Salt, which entered through the building’s air vents.

Rescue teams come and remove Tane (Ethan Browne) out of the building when the programme returns next week. Logan and Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost) rush to the site to treat Tane despite the risk of cross-contamination.

According to Harley, who spoke to Digital Spy, “Filming the high-stakes scenes at Salt was a lot of fun. It wasn’t your normal Bay day, and there were several large fire vehicles on the scene.

“Filming dramatic scenes like this is incredible. In the emergency scenes, it gives Logan and me a real sense of purpose. Finding the right mix between professional and joyful human is a lot of fun. The scale moves up and down. It gives me a lot of pleasure.

“Logan’s difference now that he’s treating friends and neighbours is that, as a trauma surgeon, he’s not used to seeing his patients months after they’ve been treated. As a result, he’ll have to make some alterations. He’s not immune to the effects.”

“I’m sure Logan considers the danger to himself before treating Tane, but he isn’t a risk-averse person, in fact, he could be the polar opposite.”

“Under any circumstances, he doesn’t seem to give much thought to his own well-being.”

Logan continues to supervise Tane’s emergency treatment later at the hospital. Logan is adamant about getting Tane’s heart beating again after he passes out, despite Jasmine’s advice to call a time of death.

“Logan isn’t a fan of failure, and he cares passionately about people,” Harley continued. He couldn’t stand the thought of ‘what if?'”
