‘Home and Away’ star Ray Meagher teases HUGE family drama for Alf and Roo

Ray Meagher, star of Home and Away, told whattowatch.com that the Stewart family is set to undergo a true test of their family relationships in the aftermath of the shocking toxic gas event at Salt.

After a mysterious assailant poisoned guests at a charity banquet, Alf’s wife Martha Stewart (Belinda Giblin) was put in grave danger, passing out.

As the battle to save Martha’s life continues, Alf and his daughter Roo Stewart (Georgie Parker) are scared they may lose her.

When close friend Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) experiences a delayed and very serious reaction to the gas, things get even more tragic for the family. Her organs begin to fail, and she is placed in a medically induced coma.

“Other individuals were impacted on the night but seemed to shake it off fairly quickly,” Ray observed. “But for Martha and Marilyn, it’s a real battle.”

While Marilyn’s life hangs in the balance, Martha survives long enough for Alf and Roo to see her. However, this isn’t always good news.

“The poisons impact the lungs and kidneys, and the physicians aren’t sure to what extent or how terribly they harm Martha,” Ray continued.

“For a while, it’s touch and go, but they eventually figure out that her lungs aren’t too terrible, but her kidneys are the big issue.”

When Martha is taken to a specialist renal unit in the city for dialysis, Ray teased that Martha’s life or death struggle will have significant ramifications for them all.

“The question is whether or if they can heal her kidney problems – and if so, how.”

“Does she require dialysis or a kidney transplant?” Is any of this going to help her, or is she too far gone for it?

“Where does she go for a transplant if she needs one?” You must find a compatible partner. There’s a lot going on!”

As they attempt to deal with the heartbreaking situation, Alf’s affectionate but occasionally turbulent relationship with his daughter appears likely to be tested.

“There are issues with Martha’s kidneys, and then there are issues between Alf and Roo about how they go about attempting to help her,” Ray explained.

“They both see the same finish line and want the same thing, but it’s how they go about getting there that differs.” They quarrel about it and squabble with one another.”

Ray says that whatever the family’s future holds, he hopes for a good outcome. Georgie Parker, who plays Roo, Belinda Giblin, who plays Martha, and Lukas Radovich, who plays grandson Ryder Jackson, are all good friends.

“Georgie and I are excellent friends, and I enjoy working with her, and Lukas as Ryder is fantastic; he’s a fantastic kid.” I’ve known Belinda for a hundred years. That’s a nice little family you’ve got there!

“I hope things calm down and Alf and Martha can get back to being as happy as they were when he persuaded her to move to Summer Bay.”

“They had these moments where they could have small friendly barbs and jokes at each other because they understood what the other was thinking.”

“That would be wonderful, and I’d love for Roo to meet a lovely man!” Apart from that, whatever plots the writers assign to us, we’ll do our best to carry them out!”

While Alf is struggling in Summer Bay, Ray and his wife Gilly Meagher, a former nurse, are planning to widen their horizons a little more in 2022 and travel. That means Ray, the soap opera legend, might pay us a visit!

“We’re planning a trip to the United Kingdom later this year,” says the group “Ray disclosed himself.

“We had planned to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday in Scotland in 2020, but we were unable to do so due to the current scenario.

“Hopefully, things will be more transparent this year, and we will be able to travel to the UK.”
