Home and Away’s Dan Ewing has viewers in stitches after repeatedly talking about himself in the third person during SAS Australia premiere

On Monday, Dan Ewing made quite an impression in the premiere of SAS Australia.

The former Home and Away actor amused viewers when he inexplicably referred to himself in the third person while introducing himself and his purpose for appearing on the show.

‘Stepping into SAS selection is quite an intriguing endeavour,’ the 36-year-old remarked. There is no acting involved. ‘Hello, my name is Dan Ewing.’

‘So, what does Dan Ewing do when he doesn’t get enough sleep? What will Dan do if he hasn’t eaten, is extremely cold, and is being yelled at and called all kinds of names?

‘What does Dan Ewing do when he’s up against a brick wall?’ he wondered.

Viewers were in stitches at the actor’s monologue, with one asking, “Why is Dan Ewing talking to himself in the third person?” on Twitter.

‘I had no clue who Dan Ewing was until he repeated his name numerous times,’ says the second.

‘Dan Ewing loves to talk about himself in the third person a lot,’ one Twitter user said, while another asked, ‘Why does Dan Ewing speak in the third person?’ ‘Because he’s a performer.’

‘The first rule of Dan Ewing is that you don’t talk about Dan Ewing in the third person,’ a fourth joked. What a jerk (and I’ve never heard of him),’ she said, using a famous line from the movie Fight Club.

‘I suppose Dan Ewing is going to have to talk to Dan Ewing,’ one viewer joked, while another remarked, ‘I get the sense Dan Ewing is there to promote Dan Ewing’s profile, but I may be wrong.’

‘Dan Ewing is pondering the possibility of Dan Ewing winning. Another posted, “I can’t wait till Dan Ewing is damaged enough to stop talking in the third person.”

‘Rhi is perplexed as to why Dan Ewing speaks in the third person. One Twitter user said, “Only one dude can pull it off.”

Dan, like his fellow trainees, was compelled to strip down for Monday’s premiere after being subjected to tear gas in a confined tent.

‘I have nothing to prove doing SAS, I’m doing SAS because I want to,’ he added in his introduction.

‘I’m extremely good with my mental and spiritual health, and I keep my emotions in check,’ the actor continued.
