Dan Ewing may have fought his way through SAS Australia, but he was best known for his on-screen relationship with Bianca Scott on Home & Away before that.
That’s correct, the River Boy was a big favourite at Summer Bay, so much so that when he returned as Heath Braxton for a cameo appearance earlier this year, fans went crazy.
Heath’s happy ever after came in the shape of a romance with Bianca Scott (played by Lisa Gormley) during his first time on the long-running drama, but off-screen, a new lady is capturing Dan’s heart.
For three years, the actor was married to Marni Little, with whom he has seven-year-old son Archer. In December 2015, the former couple called it quits on their marriage.
Dan’s new romance with his girlfriend, dancer Kat Risteska, was a fresh start for him after a tumultuous divorce.
In 2016, the Home & Away actress announced their romance by posting a candid snapshot of the brunette beauty writing on a Christmas card on Instagram.
Dan joked in the comment, “You know you’re dating a lady from the west when she makes writing a Christmas letter look Thug,” adding the hashtags “#easeupcuz” and “will stab you.”
According to a source at the time, the two had known one other for years and had even crossed paths on the set of Home & Away, where Kat had temporarily worked as a young actress herself.
“They met when she was 19 since she used to work for the same management group as Dan. As a result, they’ve both known her for quite some time,” a source told the newspaper.
Dan acknowledged to being the one who initially sought Kat on social media during an appearance on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in 2018.
He stated, “I was single for around eight months give or take… and then it was simply months of following her [online] actually!”
Dan honoured the four-year anniversary of his and Kat’s dating with a gushing social media post last year.
“It’s been four years, Boo.” In the long caption, the SAS star wrote, “4 years of you making me a better person and me making you….eat more red meat and obsess about basketball…”
“You embody the adage, ‘Show me, don’t tell me.’ A soul that is older than a “ancient soul”… Perhaps the soul of a seductive Amazon warrior? What are your thoughts? Is it just me? What is my fantasy? Okay, that’s OK…”
He added stated he was “really privileged” to have Kat in his life since she “makes everyone around you better.”
Dan proposed to Kat on December 9, 2021, after years of rumours that the Chasing Comets star was eager to walk down the aisle with her.
“All I want for Christmas is…,” he subsequently revealed on Christmas Day, alongside a close-up photo of Kat’s ring.
Kat shared the identical shot on Instagram, as well as another of the couple excitedly hugging shortly after the proposal.
