Proposals, heated arguments and a death: What Summer Bay fans can expect to see in the explosive 2021 Home and Away finale

Diehard Summer Bay fans are on the edge of their seats as the Home and Away season comes to a close, anxious to see what drama will unfold as the serial comes to a close for the year.

Not surprisingly, 2021 was an eventful year in the Bay, with Tori (Penny McNamee) and Christian (Ditch Davey) marrying and relocating to England, Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) being sentenced to prison, Felicity being stalked, and Marilyn (Emily Symons) suffering the consequences of a devastating toxic chemical attack.

We’ve compiled a list of things fans can look forward to in the final week, which ends on Thursday, November 25.

What causes Mia, Chloe, and Matthew to get into a fight?

Matthew (James Sweeny) has made it his mission to abduct his daughter Chloe (Sam Barrett) from his ex, Mia, since his surprise arrival (Anna Sampson). And, after weeks of portraying the adoring father, his deception may finally pay off.

Matthew presents Chloe with an application for a top business college in his latest attempt to persuade her to leave Summer Bay. He proposes to fund her education and to provide her with a place to live in the city.

Chloe is overjoyed, but Mia urges her to stay. Chloe is the victim of a sexual assault, but she has no idea her mother is holding such a terrible secret from her.

Chloe accepts her father’s offer the next day, leaving Mia distraught as she watches her daughter get ready to go. She tells the truth because she knows it’s now or never. Chloe is startled, but she eventually comprehends her mother’s sentiments.

Chloe refuses her father’s calls the next day, still reeling from the news. Matthew, on the other hand, will not be ignored and will arrive demanding answers.

An altercation develops as Chloe tells him to leave their life for good. Mia hears the ruckus and rushes out to see the two involved in a furious brawl. Matthew takes Mia by the throat and accuses her of lying.

Who will be the first to be buried alive?

Ryder (Lukas Radovich) and Theo (Matt Evans) are prepared to take on their “biggest epic challenge yet” after attempting video stunts. But their most recent wild notion – a buried alive challenge – ups the ante.

Ryder is shown stepping into a coffin and being buried alive in the countryside, but the trick goes horribly wrong.

He’s left pleading to be let out of the coffin, as Theo falls comatose nearby, apparently in an accident.

Will the two be rescued from the bush’s harsh conditions before it’s too late?

Who will be the first to depart Summer Bay together?

Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) has to flee after suffering a near-death encounter at the hands of stalker Anne. Tane (Ethan Browne) and her share her trauma, and the two are closer than they’ve ever been.

The two decide to leave the Bay together and embark on a road trip, where they are seen kissing passionately around a campfire.

Will a steamy road trip be enough to clinch the deal and make them the Bay’s sexiest new couple?

Is Martha going to make it?

Martha’s (Belinda Giblin) health has been rapidly deteriorating after the accidental gas exposure at the Stewart family benefit.

Will Roo be able to give Martha the gift of life? Alf (Ray Meagher) and Roo (Georgie Parker) will go to any length to avoid losing Martha again.

Who is it that gets proposed to?

Even more turmoil is in store for Mia and Ari in a sneak glimpse of what’s coming up in the soap’s season finale.

In the midst of the chaos, Ari is reminded of how precious his love for Mia is, prompting him to go down on one knee and ask a crucial question. Is Mia prepared to embark on the next phase of her life with him?
