Former Neighbours star Lincoln Lewis responds to the show’s sad axing

Lincoln Lewis, who appeared on Neighbours for a four-week guest stint in 2011, has reacted to the news of the show’s cancellation.

Lincoln, 34, played marine biologist Dominic Emmerson in the film, which also starred Stefan Dennis as kingpin Paul Robinson and Ashleigh Brewer as Kate Ramsay.

In the wake of the news, the Australian actor reflected on his time on the popular serial, rummaging through his hard drive for photos of his time on set with his co-stars.

He accompanied the carousel post with photographs of himself with Stefan and Ashleigh: “Last week’s news about Neighbours made me upset. It’s a classic show that many people have grown up watching over the course of its 37-year run, and it’s helped thousands of individuals find work in the entertainment industry.”

The statement went on to say: “I had a good look through the hard drives and came across these two photos from my guest appearance on the show, so I thought I’d share them. It was only for a brief period, but it was insanely sweet!

“They called my agency at the time and asked if I was interested in participating in their Whitsundays plot… I think I was packed in 5 minutes and ready to shoot in Port Douglas a few weeks later with the wonderfully gifted [Ashleigh].

“Had a fantastic night with a fantastic group of individuals,” he continued. “Whatever happens, over four decades of nonstop entertainment is something to be applauded!”

Lincoln ended his post by expressing his profound gratitude to the cast, staff, and everyone involved in the production of Neighbours.

This summer, Channel 5 will drop Neighbours from its schedule.
