Neighbours confirms character death in Australian promo for 2022

A character death has been confirmed for Neighbours in early 2022.

Following today’s (December 9) broadcast of the 2021 season finale in Australia, the show debuted a first-look promo for next year’s episodes on 10 Peach.

The trailer did not reveal who was killed, but it did tease “tragedy” as Erinsborough is hit by a terrible storm that puts many of the town’s residents in danger.

We don’t know if the character dies because of the storm, but the promo ends with the ominous words “Someone will die,” followed by glimpses of a funeral attended by Ramsay Street residents.

So, who’s next to perish?

Given the cliffhanger in 2021, Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) might be a contender. She was clinging to the edge of the Lassiters roof, and the trailer provided the first glimpse of what happened next.

Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) is furious with Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) for not doing enough to assist her.

Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) is enduring chemotherapy and may be seen getting ready for his wedding to Roxy Willis in the trailer (Zima Anderson).

If Terese or Kyle aren’t involved, it may be someone surprising…

Zara Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton), Amy Greenwood’s (Jacinta Stapleton) daughter, also comes in Erinsborough, according to the teaser.

Walking in on Amy in bed with her lovers Levi Canning (Richie Morris) and Ned Willis couldn’t have been a more embarrassing moment to reconcile with her mother (Ben Hall).

Zara’s birth threatens to herald the end for the polyamorous relationship, as Amy wants to put her kid first.

She says, “Right now, it just needs to be Zara and me.”

It won’t be long before Levi finds a new love interest, as he begins to hang out with Phoebe Roberts’ Freya Wozniak, a new regular character.

Freya will be “the ultimate mystery girl” who is “not afraid to bend the rules,” according to the soap, and one shot in the trailer shows a panicked Freya clutching a knife.

Other scenes include a glimpse into Harlow’s London storyline, which stars Amanda Holden and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett), who appears desperate to keep his secret hidden after learning Harlow was digging up dirt on him.

The 2021 season finale will broadcast in the UK tomorrow, although the UK will be ahead of Australia starting in January 2022, as 10 Peach plans to keep its four-episode-per-week schedule.
