‘Neighbours’ Melissa Bell on family SHOCK for Lucy and Paul!

Melissa Bell, who plays Lucy Robinson on Neighbours, has spoken about a HUGE new tale for the Robinson family, in which Lucy and Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) meet a face from the – far distant – past!

Paul spots long-lost half-brother Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett) during a Lassiters hotel group conference in Queensland that the siblings are attending with Paul’s divorced wife Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), whom they haven’t seen in over 30 years!

Lucy is first sceptical of Paul’s claims that he saw Glen at the airport and that he plans to spend another night.

Melissa added, “Lucy feels Paul is putting it on about Glen to remain and patch things up with Terese.”

“She believes he’s being foolish when he exclaims, ‘I think I’ve seen our long-lost brother!'”

“They run into each other, and Lucy can’t believe it.”

As the storey unfolds, it becomes clear that Paul is remorseful for his treatment of Glen all those years ago. He resented him for unexpectedly showing up as the son their father, Jim Robinson, had no idea he’d fathered.

“For Paul, it’s more about soul searching and making amends,” Melissa explained.

“Paul is remorseful for Glen’s mishap. That is why he is so eager to put things right. He aspires to connect with you on an emotional level like brothers.”

Melissa’s first appearance as Lucy coincided with Richard Huggett’s brief appearance on the show in the early 1990s.

“It felt like no time had passed, as if we had just worked together yesterday,” she said, “yet we hadn’t seen each other in 25 years!”

Melissa has returned to Ramsay Street for brief appearances after quitting the role as a regular in 1995.

Lucy got married to old flame Mark Gottlieb (Bruce Samazan) in a surprise ceremony during the hotel’s major wedding expo the last time we saw her in Erinsborough.

“Lucy is happily married to Mark, and they live in New York with their daughter Annie. “She goes around the world inspecting hotels,” Melissa explained.

“She should stay in Erinsborough for a while longer.” That would be fantastic!”

Melissa has been keeping busy away from her Neighbours’ family, and her most recent endeavour will see her appear in an Australian horror thriller that will be released in the UK this Autumn.

“It’s called The Possessed, and it stars Home and Away’s Lincoln Lewis and Wolf Creek’s John Jarratt.

“It’s based on true incidents involving exorcists who performed exorcisms.” “I portray a lady whose husband is possessed!”
