Alan Fletcher of Neighbours has revealed that Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) will return before the show’s end.
On Monday’s (February 28) programme of This Morning, the actor, who has portrayed Dr. Karl Kennedy on the Australian series for 28 years, discussed the show’s final few episodes and some surprising returns.
The soap has been on television for 37 years, but after Channel 5 announced that it will no longer carry it, it is set to air its final episode this summer.
Despite this, the popular series continues to draw a combined viewership of over 1.4 million viewers in the UK during its two daily broadcasts at 1.45 p.m. and 6 p.m.
When speaking with the hosts, Fletcher expressed his opinion on whether or not loyal viewers will see some of their old favourites return to Ramsay Street for the show’s final episode.
“I do know that the brilliant Harold Bishop has been announced to return to Ramsay Street near the end of the season,” he stated. Someone from Karl’s shady past will undoubtedly reappearance, and there are a slew of other names in the mix.
“I can guarantee you that the producers are working really hard to lure some of Neighbours’ most beloved characters to at least make cameo appearances.”
Fletcher, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped on whether or not Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who both got their start on the show, will make an appearance.
“I can’t say much about it yet because I don’t want to give anything away, but that will be the thrill of the last episodes. ‘Oh look who’s here!’ I’d say as I sat there “he stated
When asked about his own future plans, Fletcher stated that he planned to use his newly gained free time to finally tour his show ‘The Doctor Will See You Now,’ which was initially scheduled to debut in 2020, as well as focus on his music (he now prefers Americana) and attend a few festivals.
