This Morning and Loose Women stars back Neighbours following sad axing news

After Channel 5 declared it was cancelling the show and no alternative broadcaster could be found, Neighbours is regretfully coming to an end after 37 years.

Several current and former actors of the soap have spoken out against the cancellation, but now a slew of British TV celebrities have thrown their weight behind a campaign to save the show.

In a video posted to the ‘Save Neighbours’ Twitter account on March 5, familiar faces such as Holly Willoughby from This Morning, Lorraine Kelly from Lorraine Kelly, Charlene White from Loose Women, Courtney Act from RuPaul’s Drag Race, model and presenter Katie Piper from The Masked Singer UK series 3 winner Natalie Imbruglia from The Masked Singer UK series 3 winner Natalie Imbruglia from The Masked Singer UK series 3 winner Natalie Imbruglia from The Masked Singer UK

The cast discuss all of the show’s classic characters, how it’s been a sentimental institution in Britain for decades, and how it’s excelled in on-screen diversity in recent years.

The petition referenced in the video has nearly 64,000 signatures, and you can add your name to it here if you want to help save the soap.

It’s been reported that the soap’s writers have drawn up an ending ahead of the final episodes being recorded in June, and there’s been much of speculation about getting some iconic previous stars to return – might we really see Kylie Minogue reprise her overalls one last time? Jason Donovan had some thoughts on the subject…

What we do know for sure at the time is that the finale will be joyful and devoid of significant tragedy.
